For Juniors

During the summer prior to the Junior year, participation in a one-week residential Junior Leadership Conference is mandatory. There are nine primary focus areas. The areas are: public speaking, civic responsibility, critical thinking, trust, problem solving, communication, conflict resolution, human relations, and leadership. We provide student activities, discussions and events to build skills, knowledge and attitudes.  A student is not technically a Bridge Builders® participant until he/she has completed the week and has been inducted into the program at the Induction Ceremony.  The Induction Ceremony is held the final evening of the summer conference, and all families are encouraged to attend.

During the Junior year, students attend Bridge Builders® Skill Building Meetings. Skill Building meetings are the backbone of the Bridge Builders® program and provide fun and exciting learning opportunities for the students to continue to build new skills, new attitudes, and explore new behaviors that began at Junior Leadership Conference.  Topics include public speaking, civic responsibility, critical thinking, trust problem solving, communication, conflict resolution, human relations, and leadership.  Each month, meetings are offered at night and on Saturdays to address different core Bridge Builders® topics.  To meet the Bridge Builders® minimum requirements, each student must attend no less than seven skill building meetings. 
We recommend attending a minimum of four in the fall semester and three in the spring semester, but
encourage students to plan what works best in their busy schedules.
